Positive Behaviour Support looks at why behaviours of concern happen and responds with practical, person-centred strategies. It focuses on the person’s needs, preferences and circumstances, not just the behaviour itself.circumstances that influence their actions.
PBS starts with a thorough assessment to understand what is driving behaviours of concern. From there, personalised strategies are developed to build skills, improve communication, support inclusion and create environments that lead to better daily outcomes. Families and carers are also part of the process, helping everyone work towards the same goals.
