In-home care sits under Core Supports in the NDIS because it covers practical help people may need day to day to live more independently. This can include household tasks, personal care, grooming and meal preparation, as well as higher intensity support such as medication administration, behavioural support and hoisting.
Having the right person come into your home can make daily life feel calmer and more manageable. A warm, respectful approach helps build confidence and comfort, while support is provided with close attention to safety and wellbeing. Behavioural support can also be delivered at home, with full registration for restrictive practices.
